If you have noticed any of the following signs within your organization, some of your employees may be the victims of discrimination or harassment by their co-workers:

  • Ethnic, racial or gender slurs or jokes.
  • Resistance to working with members of another gender, ethnic, racial, or cultural group.
  • Little or no social interaction between members of different groups.
  • Negative comments about the work habits of members of other groups.
  • Prejudicial or stereotypic comments about other groups.
  • Display of symbols offensive to ethnic, gender, racial, or religious groups.
  • Complaints about other cultural, racial, or gender groups.
  • Use of demeaning terms (e.g., boy, gals).
  • Frequent “us” versus “them” comments.
  • Complaints about favoritism.
